Overview Camberley Youth Wind Orchestra (CYWO) is a music ensemble based in Camberley, affiliated with Surrey Arts. It brings together young woodwind, brass, and percussion players aged 8 to 18 from North West Surrey and surrounding areas. The orchestra offers weekly rehearsals, opportunities to learn new music, and performances throughout the year.
What to Expect Families can expect two sections within the orchestra: Juniors for beginners to Grade 4 and Seniors for players at Grade 4 and above. Rehearsals take place on Saturdays from 9.30am to 11.30am at Cordwalles Junior School. Members receive support from experienced musical directors and Surrey Arts tutors, fostering teamwork and musical development.
Good to Know The termly fee covers all rehearsals, tuition from professional musicians, and participation in public and internal concerts. Participants are required to bring their instrument, a music stand, a pencil, a drink, and a snack. Free trial lessons are available for those interested in joining.
